“If you are wearing lingerie that makes you feel glamorous, you are half way there to turning heads.” Elle MacPherson

Why Wear Lingerie?

Lingerie may be the simplest and most effective tool in seduction. What man doesn’t love looking at a woman in lingerie? Not only do men love seeing women in lingerie, something amazing usually happens when a woman puts on the right lingerie. She not only looks sexy, but she feels sexy, she becomes sexy. Lingerie can boost confidence and help shed inhibitions. The right lingerie can turn plain Jane into a smouldering sex kitten.

Gifts are wonderful but we all know the most appealing packages are those wrapped in pretty wrapping paper, ribbons and bows. The wrapping makes the gift that much more enticing. Plus unwrapping the present adds more excitement. That is the affect and lure of lingerie. You want to package your goodies enticingly and give your partner a surprise and sexy gift to unwrap.

Lingerie is a wonderful way to inspire romance and enhance your intimate encounters. Most of us save wearing lingerie for special occasions like Valentine’s Day, birthdays or anniversaries, but it can be used at any time to add some extra heat to a relationship. Think of it as giving a surprise gift just because. There is no better way to let a man know that you want him and men love to be wanted. When he sees you standing there in something sexy, slinky, lacy or racy he’ll instantly know what you have in mind.

There are many types of lingerie to choose from. You can find everything from mild to wild from sweet and sensual to bold and risqué. Make sure to try lingerie on before buying if you can. Just because it looks good in the store or on a model doesn’t mean it will flatter you. Look for lingerie that enhances your natural assets and down plays or hides less flattering areas. For instance if you feel you have nice breasts but you hate your legs opt for a long flattering gown that accentuates your breasts and gives him a great view of your ample cleavage but seductively hides your legs. If you have a nice butt, look for something with a thong back. If you are not too fond of your backside choose something like a baby doll gown that just covers up your behind or something with tap pants that flows around your bottom without clinging too tightly. Whatever you choose he’s sure to love it and not notice any of your flaws because he’ll be too focused on how sexy you look.

Today, we can see almost as much lingerie peeking out from a woman’s clothing as we suspect to be hidden underneath.

Instead of gazing at unsightly panty lines, we now rest our eyes upon the strip of cloth, belonging to the ever-popular thong, as it makes its way just above the beltline of a pair of low-rider jeans. Bra straps in a myriad of colours slip down bare shoulders and tantalize us with their playful appearance.

Bright colours and bold patterns, barely visible and yet clearly visible, make a statement as they shine through the thin fabric of blouses, cotton shirts, and lightweight sweaters.

From two-piece sets to mix and match, the combinations and possibilities are endless. Just as a woman has many facets to her personality, lingerie has many faces to show the world.

Selecting and wearing lingerie has become an understandable passion. A woman can truly express herself through her intimate apparel. Depending upon her selection, a woman may allow her feminine side to glow, her sexy and seductive side to romp, or her innocent and gentle side to shine. A woman should select her lingerie for the day based upon the inner self she wants to portray.

Is lingerie designed for comfort, concealment, or seduction? In reality, it probably is a bit of all three. After all, lingerie, the garment that lies closest to a woman’s body, impacts on how a woman feels. A woman is transformed as she puts on her undergarments. Her feminine side comes to the forefront and takes charge of how she feels about herself.

No longer does a woman attempt to hide her underwear, but rather, she flaunts it and puts it out there for all to see. After all, it is rather appealing. Women have come a long way and no longer need to hide their sexuality. In fact, intimate apparel is at the top of the ‘desired gifts’ list.

Lingerie is a gift of romance. It is a gift given with a gesture of desire, a hint of appreciation, and a meaning of love. Lingerie no longer has the same purpose of yesteryear. No more corsets and gussets to compress and hide a woman’s assets.

Padded bras or padded cheeks - they all speak to the same thing. A woman wants to look her best and is willing to try almost anything to enhance her appearance. Whether a woman is trying to maximize what she has or minimize what she has but doesn’t want, lingerie has been designed to do the trick.

Formed and fitted, push up and control, no seam or full seam, ultra-this and ultra-that, all of these are variations that are designed for the sole purpose of enhancing a woman’s physique. Skimpy or flowing, sheer or opaque, crotch less or snap crotch, strapless or clear strap, demi cup or full cup, these are variations that are designed to enhance a woman’s psyche.

The art of wearing lingerie is not a difficult one to learn. Simply discover what styles fit you best - physically and sensually. Combine this with the colours and patterns that you enjoy. Fill your lingerie wardrobe with a little bit of everything. Choose carefully and wear proudly. The lingerie options are seemingly endless on what is available to purchase. Not only are the options endless so are the places to purchase lingerie from. You are only as limited as your imagination and your pocketbook, happy shopping.

Camilla Yosuke

Designer spotlight Camilla Yosuke - Insolence Designs

As I was running an article on lingerie I thought it most pertinent to include an interview with one of the pre-eminent lingerie designers in Second Life, oh and an exceptionally nice person to boot...

LM: Did you know you wanted to be a designer in SL from the get go?

CY: I discovered SL totally by chance, and decided to take a peek. I rapidly understood that I needed to find better clothing quickly if I wanted to socialize...specially looking at my default shoes. As I had a graphic’s background, I understood that I could make my own shoes, then clothes. Then I understood I could sell it as well, and the adventure began here, I think in the first 2 weeks of my SL life.

LM: What is it about SL you enjoy the most?

CY : Exploring ! Its so nice to find a place you have never been to before, and enjoy the awesome creativity that flourishes everywhere. In this sense, SL is like a big picture book that everybody writes. This is from far the best aspect of it, I think.

LM: What is it about SL you dislike the most?

CY: I think, besides crashing just in the middle of a photo shoot, that constantly having to work within the technical limitations when designing clothing , is the worst side of SL for a designer. The avatar texturing is not consistent in density, it stretches badly at joints..Sculpted objects are nice, but so limitative in what can be achieved... I really wish Linden Labs would catch up with industry standards for the character and mesh implementation. That would really unleash creativity and possibilities. As it is now, I feel like SL says to me "look, you can create and publish at will, no limits to your ideas", and strikes me in the back with a "oh, sorry, that , you can't ! ". This is very frustrating.

LM: What motivates you/keeps you motivated?

CY: I receive very nice and friendly feedback from my customers almost every day. This is something that fills me with warmth, and gives a lot of satisfaction. You feel like you accomplished something, when someone sends you a little line of acknowledgment! It always keeps simple and joyful. These little moments are my engine to keep the boat sailing !

LM: How did you get into the SL designing business?

CY: So after having understood that I was able to create and sell, I had to face a totally new market, with its rules and ways. First I rented a tiny store and made my first virtual seller steps. I quickly understood that I needed more exposure, and, roughly at this time, I have had the luck to meet people who greatly helped, and opened me the doors to some higher traffic places. A few months later, I met my mall neighbour, who was no other than Callie Cline. She stuck 2 rocket boosters on my feet when she blogged about my work, and gave me all the advice I was needing to navigate in this new space. I'll never thank her enough for this !

LM: What would you classify your design style as?

CY: There are a few words I try to keep in mind when creating new designs. These would be high quality, refinement, luxury and exigency. I think it could be considered very French, or Italian in the lines and global feel.

LM: What inspires your style?

CY: This is harder to answer. I read a lot of magazines, both RL and in SL. I spend time shopping, looking around what is made. Then the seasons, my own mood, have a great influence. I love experimenting with fabric feeling, too, trying to catch their nature and what they can express. Flowers are a big source of inspiration too, they are the closest thing to lingerie that nature gives us, excepted maybe lullabies.

LM: What’s the best fashion advice you’ve been given?

CY: Listen to what people want, and give them what they didn't think about. Surprise them !

LM: What are your most prized fashion buys?

CY: This may be disappointing, but I'm not a big fashion buyer ! I love to wear simple and nice, everyday wear. So, the highest price I spent must not exceed the cost of a good dinner !

LM: Who are your favourite Real Life designers?

CY: If we talk about lingerie, I am always in admiration on the classic works of Lise Charmel, I-D.Sarrieri or Myla. In a more creative and unusual spirit, I'm in love with Sonata and their subtle, intricate designs. These are pure gems in the lingerie world. If we talk more generally, I am a pure Diesel fan. Forever.

LM: What do you wear when relaxing?

CY: A tee shirt, a short, sandals, a cat and an orange juice.

LM: What are your fashion dos and don’ts?

CY: I try to keep classical and play on the border of naughtiness. I try to always have fun when drawing. I try to always avoid falling in excessive explicitness. I refuse to create something that would sell, but that I wouldn’t like to create personally.

LM: In your opinion what should women know when it comes to sexiness?

CY: In my opinion, sexiness should be played by suggestion, rather than exhibition. Giving sparse clues, whispers of possible sightings that leave room for imagination, will always work thousands times better than aggressively shouting that you are sexy. Sexiness is not only about what you wear. It has to be a feeling and mood first. I think the sexiest girl does not necessarily put too much effort into her clothing, but has these shiny eyes that reveal the warm storm deep in her.

LM: What are the sexiest things a woman can wear?

CY: Nothing but a drop of perfume and the border of a sheet hiding what they want their partner to see!

Why Men Love Women Who Wear Lingerie

Have you ever wondered why men seem to go crazy about women dressed up in lingerie? Find out why it gets them sizzling and how you can use this to your advantage.

Ask around and a majority of men will tell you that they love it when their wives or girlfriends wear sexy lingerie. Women who wear lingerie 'feel' more feminine and sexy. That can help them to 'unleash' passions they may have hidden from themselves, or been too afraid to show before

Men are 'visual' and 'physical' beings when it comes to sex. Men will create powerfully-stimulating images in their minds looking at a woman in sexy lingerie. His desire for you and the anticipation of a sexual encounter with you builds as he 'touches' the sensuous material of the lingerie. Women tend to desire an 'emotional-connection' and with their partner, in conjunction with the physical stimulation of sexual activity. Women want to know that their mate finds them desirable and sexy. Wearing sexy lingerie gives both of them the 'sensory' stimulation needed for a better sexual experience, and the deepening of their relationship.

When a man sees the woman he loves wearing some very seductive lingerie, he can 'visualize' her apart from the other roles she plays in the workplace or as a wife and mother. He can feel confident that for this space-in-time, she is there just for him. She won't be distracted by her everyday demands such as last minute assignments from the boss, fixing dinner, laundry, or "cranky" children. The sight of her in a beautiful, lacy bra and panties 'heightens' his anticipation of sharing this time with her.

To him, sexy lingerie is like 'unwrapping' a Christmas present. He anticipates that once he has completely removed the delicious 'wrapping' from his woman- it will lead to explosively-satisfying sex for both him and her. What woman doesn't want to have her man 'salivating' and 'groaning' with desire for her? What woman wouldn't feel "special' to see the gleam in his eyes, and the raising of the flag so to speak as he traces a finger slowly over the lacing of your bra or along the edges of your barely-there thong? What woman would pass up experiencing his 'tenderness' as he slowly removes the hosiery from your legs-one sensuous leg at a time? Knowing that you have 'seductive powers over your man 'heightens' your own sexual experience.

Why not let out the seductive-tigress within you tonight by wearing some sexy lingerie? Maybe you've never worn sexy lingerie before and are a little 'hesitant' about trying some out. Don't be. What's important is to wear the sexy lingerie you feel most comfortable in. Your man will love whatever sexy lingerie you choose!

 ★ AVENUE MODELS★ - BOUDOIR SECRETS

AVENUE Models was back with another installation of Second Life's hottest lingerie runway show - Boudoir Secrets on Saturday 13th June 2009.

Touted as the best show in town at the first installation during Christmas last year, this edition was to be no less of a high end production brining the sexy, smouldering, spell-binding entertainment quality that AVENUE is renowned for.. Unfortunately it didn’t quite come off that way courtesy of severe lag and sim crashes.

The show had burlesque cabaret theme over 4 sims. Boudoir Secrets II featured the likes of the fashion labels of Angel Dessouss, Baiastice, Beauty Avatar Couture, Blacklace, DE Designs, Insolence, V Fashions, Stiletto Moody and Mika. Guests were treated to free gifts by the designers and were encouraged to dress up in the theme where the best dressed stood to win prizes sponsored by the designers. I had to give up eventually as I could no longer see the stage nor hear the sound.

The show was choreographed, hosted and Djed by AVENUE CEO Rusch Raymaker and produced by AVENUE Liaison Livia Mastroianni.
