Since I'm in the mood to scribble my thoughts I will write this article until I run out of things to say so please pop some popcorn, sit tight and ponder the next few minutes before logging into Second Life today. View things in a whole new light. Give yourself a chance to enjoy your second life and avoid the negative things that wastes time you can be using applying your creativity, learning from others and maybe even becoming a better person in some ways.
Being the CEO of The SL Enquirer is by no means an easy job but one that I love to do with great pride and dedication. Not only for the sense of accomplishment I log off with but I do it for the fans who like down to earth fun community news, anyone who wants a voice and for my beloved SLE Family.
Together we deliver virtual world news in it's rawest and most personal of ways. Each writer with their own style and freedom to express themselves.
The beauty of it all is that we all get along and help each other with respect for one another and The SL Enquirer.
It has never been about internal drama, money, competition or trying to bring down others. Sadly in all my years of virtual world observation and reporting, I have seen it a lot.
Businesses and partnerships begin and crumble because their foundations are weak and sometimes priorities are in the wrong place.
At some point peeps begin to turn on each other with what I like to call the “Crab in a Bucket” Syndrome or “Getting it twisted” Plaque.
These peeps just climbing on top of each other to get ahead or forget there is a person behind the screen with feelings too.
In other situations, It seems people who dare to cross the rl/sl line should either be mindful of others and not put their baggage on people or for the other party...they should brace themselves for hearing unpleasant things about other's lives and trying to help them . The truth is unless we are a licensed professional or willing to go that extra mile in being a shoulder that can sometimes weigh down on you. It is your choice to kindly retreat not because your being selfish but because in most cases there is nothing you can physically do to help. Listening and Hugging from a distance is a helpless feeling and is about all that can be done, ending up draining you and your Second Life.
Is the other person the selfish one for putting this on you? After all it is your second life as it is theirs and you have the right to live yours without any drama.
I myself am no stranger to drama. I've had my squabbles with peeps but for the most part. I have to cut them off and keep it movin. Not that I don't care but, I have enough to deal with. I am human, I got my own issues as does everyone else and I don't want to be here feeling sad and helpless because there isn't much I can do but offer my limited time.
What i don't have time for is Those who have tried to use my resources with little to no help or effort to SLE, being promised great things only to find myself working by myself , then getting my sandcastles constantly kicked down and having to relocate and start my lil empire all over again. It's frustrating but with determination in the big picture, my drive continues with the help of my closest friends who have stood by me and SLE. That is loyalty and what everyone needs to look for when trying to form a reputable presence in Second Life from the ground up.
For example, The SLE Family Takes the time to get to understand what the paper is all about, the stuff that goes on behind the scenes and being part of the movement without creating problems or hurting what we work so hard for.
Building such a family comes with time and patience. It is defiantly something I had to learn. My BFF Prince Sonoda knows this all too well and had to hear 2 ½ years worth of mascara runnin, back bending tantrums and damsel in distress Grammy award winning dramatics. Hey I never said I was perfect..he did.
He took the time to calm me down into a calm submissive state like Cesar Milan that dog whisperer does to fiesty chihuahuas with issues. Prince helps me with rational thinking and believe me when I say... He saved many clownings from happening to peeps who upset me.
Those that remember the mafia news from back in the TSOE day, they know all too well the power of a pen and a Philly attitude. I took it to the street with some Wankstas. But anyways, He is just One of the circle of awesome peeps in our family.
The road up until now was filled with many hits and misses. I've had to hire and fire a couple of peeps and dramatic stories can go on and on from dealing with others who come at me for exposure but never even read the paper and ask me for a link...that's just rude.
Those in it for themselves who do random note card drop offs without a “hello” that's pretty dang rude too!
Avies who want to get plugged for free when we got bills to pay too, can a girl get a tip?
, Crabs trying to compete by attempting spinoffs of SLE material , I wont mention no names but they know who they are... griefers who harass others especially staff! ,those are my favorite to expose..Just an assorted buffet of things that create News that goes unpublished.
The inspiration for this ramble comes from an accumulation of reports I received just this week alone!
Alleged texture frauds and bad business tactics, music and other copyright issues, RANDOM DRAMA THAT GETS AIRED IN GROUPS I HAPPEN TO BE IN and other craziness.
Deciding what I should or shouldn't post is hard enough Not because it's not newsworthy but because I just don't have the time to post everything I get.
This morning while still in bed, I reached for my iphone from the nightstand to view my emails and came across something that inspired this article. It gave me a good laugh defiantly making it newsworthy for today.
Warning to those who would rather air their dirty laundry in groups instead of handling it out of the media eye.... The next article may be inspired by you!
