A look into how Drama can affects your Second Life

If you have been on the roller coaster of Second Life then you know it isn’t a smooth one with its many twists, turns, ups and downs. If you haven’t prepared yourself for the ride then you are bound to end up dazed, dizzy and confused. If your ride is just fine then this article doesn’t apply to you.

Second Life is a place where you can be anything you want to be or chose to be who you are and live by your true values and standards.

The deeper the rabbit hole gets the more emotionally involved we become when friendships & relationships are created. In any situation there could be conflict and Knowing how to handle what comes is one of the most important things you can do for yourself to keep your ride one you would keep getting on with your friends.

In any virtual world where people communicate freely…. Drama is what keeps it interesting. If nothing happened then what would we all do or talk about?.... and what would The SL Enquirer’s Police reports be good for ?

Through the years as Virtual worlds evolved so have the situations, issues and problems.

On any giving day we are meeting new and interesting people, some falling in love, other breaking up, then making up, griefers being shady, liars, cheaters… ect ect. On the flipside someone is being hurt, used or experiencing new emotions they never felt.

  One thing that’s apparent is the way people seem to value the relationships they create here.

Looking at the statistics in “Simlationships” alone, the average Marriages here only seem to last a good 3 Months maybe 4 with at least 10 fights in between…

Friendship statistics are even worst! With all the people on your friend list, how many do you actually talk to?

Realistically none of us can say we stay in contact with all of our friends but the ones that we keep onthe top of our BFF list, can we say is quality time spent and drama free?

If you can say Yes, That’s awesome!

 If you said No, I’m sorry for your drama if you are the problem, at least you have something interesting going on right?

Basically statistics show relationships are taken as seriously as marriage to a flamingo lawn ornament, and friendships dwindle due to neglect or drama.

 For those that like the front seat but not being part of it, they get to see all the action.

It could become like being an extra in a cheesy 80’s soap opera with reruns so it’s best to change the channel and find something else to do with your time. Second Life is a place where real people work and play and it seems many forget that by keeping drama on constant rotation , using others to drop their baggage on, or even worse…griefing others for personal gain. It’s a shame so many get taken for granted, like true friends…ones who will actually listen and try to help make second life a better place to be.

The ones that fuel drama just want to see more episodes...

If you see a friend as someone you turn to for advice only and most likely never take it, it makes the friendship more like a doctor/ patient type of situation. It will eventually get old and kill the friendship.

(A suggestion to the therapist friend, start charging and see how fast their problems seem to be not that big a deal anymore.)

 True Friends are the motivators & supporters in your second life, they love and accepts you unconditionally. This person wouldn’t betray you, and will always be honest. If you are lucky enough to have even just one of those then value them or else Second life will be a meaningless waste of your time and you will eventually end up alone and friendless.
