DO THE LINDENS REALLY SHOW FAVORITSM?
Just when I thought the High tide of drama was starting to recede….another Bigheaded Avie gets washed up causing The SL Enquirer to shine a spotlight on them and dissect the situation.
Usually I give it to you in a generic Police blotter kinda way but I thought I might lighten this situation and make it a bit comical just in case the Lindens decide to suspend me on a report of Harassment… so before I go on lighting this Newest Blacklister….hold on…. there needs to be a new list created…
So before I go on lighting up this New Shitlister like a Christmas tree for all to see…I just wanted to say….I love you all and will miss you terribly if I come up MISSING!!!!!!!
YOUKNOWWHODUNIT
Here’s what went down On Thursday May 8, 2008 at approximately 6 pm SLT.
I was standing in the center of Sound Valley Concert grounds minding my own business and trying to have a conversation with a friend, and out of nowhere, I get an IM from a Serenity Peart who had an inquiry about being spammed and asked me about the situation.
My response was “I cannot confirm or deny your complaint, I wasn’t there“…then started to ask her the standard.. “Who, what, where and whens’ because I‘m a reporter and we do that kinda stuff and besides I already got the scoop before she imed me….and according to that verbal report , she claimed to have power at her fingertips so…. I asked her if she had threatened this person claiming she knows Linden friends that would wipe out land with the snap of HER fingers….
Well seeing no harm in asking her questions and responding to her rant rambling… Just as any person would. This over the top drama Queen got all bent out of shape with her bloomers in a massive twist and began to get a bit snobbish with me,…after that, my mind wandered to how freakishly large her head seemed to grow with each thing she said… to put the pin in the balloon, she ended the conversation with a bang when she told me not to imed her again or she would report ME for harassment?!?
*takes a moment to access this situation*
If I’m not mistaken…she’s the one who imed ME!...
It sounds like this kid is clowning around on the wrong playground …
Since when is it ok for adults to act so childish and Not be a staff member for The SL Enquirer?
At least we all play nice together until someone comes in our yard and starts acting up…and before they end up in your yard we advise you to practice your Mute & Ban Options to protect yourself against griefers or tacky avies and if you wish to file a report with The SL Enquirer we will gladly assist you.
We don’t condone this sort of behavior by avies like that but we certainly aren’t complaining….It give us reasons to produce police reports as our duty to keep you informed.
If you see this avie please approach her with extreme caution she may wig out on you , threaten to report you for harassment, accuse you of violating the TOS and even threatening to call a Linden friend as a sidekick.
One thing is for certain the Linden she named, was contacted and I am delighted to learn, had no idea who this avie was….SO Case closed on This one….. NEXT CASE PLEASE.

POLICE REPORT- GOT A HATER PROBLEM?

Inspired by the many haters is second life that make it their business to be all up in somebody else’s business.
During my observations of Second Life culture it is quite apparent that the daily issues that plaque our real world seems to spread just as ugly though the virtual world
With people all funneled into one universe from all sorts of walks of life whether here or abroad , theres bound to be some conflict of interest, squabbles and other dramatic shenanigans that comes with the global communication territory.
In some instances avies can get caught up in the mix of things the minute they mention someone’s name to another. Things can get misconstrued and fabricated If it’ not done with only good things to say. It’s ok to spread the love but when you start hatin on somebody, muttering hurtful things to others or stooping down to a grade school level with playground bully tactics… that’s when karma kicks in and things can come back to bite you in the ass if you don’t avoid it.
As a Journalist, I feel it’s my duty to blow a whistle on this subject and flash my spotlight around at those who know exactly what I am talking about.
I’v been hated on more times then I care to remember so I know first hand the drama levels reach ridiculous proportions around here and if I can help others to avoid the ugly…then I’ve accomplished something I can be proud about…
Most of my hater incidences involved a girl giving me the stare down and assuming things about me without even knowing me..that’s the Classic Hater(guys do it too) and is always the most amusing form of flattery. Thanks to those that like to talked shit whether its true or not it ain‘t none of their dam business unless we chose to share it. Mothers are right when they say…“There just jealous. Ignore them and they will fade away …”

The Next form of Haterism is called the “Crab in a Bucket Syndrome”
Those that suffer from this dreaded problem, climb all up on others just to get ahead
These Crusty Avies belong served up at some cheap buffet with their crabby wayz
Avies like this come a dime a dozen and best avoided by showing them who the king crab is and rising above them without ending up at the bottom of the bucket cause you let one get ahead.
Another form of Hater is the Failed Cupid
This one is always hit and miss when it comes to figuring out who your real friends are and weeding out the silent disgruntle Cupids that lurk in our presence. This sort of hatin’ happens when you have a friend from the opposite sex who never really came out and told you he/she was crushing on you or doesn’t seem to take a hint. The minute you find a significant other to share some QT with…cupid’s halo turns to thorns and they are ready to act like a fatal attraction. Either coming up with dramatic situations for you to feel sorry for them or they will try to do whatever it takes to make your second life as miserable as possible so they can step in with their Hater tactics just to try and win you over.
To avoid a vicious third wheel dramatic soap opera scene with the Love struck Cupid, it’s best to be completely honest and if he /she can’t accept it and respect you. Then a boot ban and Mute should do the trick, just be mindful of ALTs and suspicious Noobs around you.
THE STALKERHATER
Last but certainly not least, The STALKERHATER
This type needs to be avoided at all cost, not only Is this avie a cramp in your style but the kind of person that isn’t playing with a full deck of cards …a sandwich short of a picnic and possibly their cheese slid off of their cracker..In other words..there just plain crazy. If someone feels the need to stalk you …It ain’t Love…It’s part of being a hater.
Do not let anyone MAP you either.. Even If it’s a spouse, lover ,BFF or whatever..unless you don’t mind a leash type feeling without the freedom to explore sl without someone over your shoulder breathing down your neck whenever they feel like it. The Only Map perms they should get or Lms to some psychiatric Facilities in second life trained to deal with STALKERHATERS and SMOTHERERS.

Land Bot Crisis By Lanai Jarrico
CLUB LANAI Gets Swiped for a Buck By a Land Bot and had to be purchased back for 40,960L Raising Questions of Morals and Legal Issues In Second Life

Typed by the fingertips of a great friends to help send me in the right direction with this article....
On Friday April 11, 2008 At my first attempt at granting land permissions to my club managers I was guided thru the process of setting land for purchase for 1L (not really thinking about setting it to a specific person since I was just going to rebuy it right away for the group and go on with our party plans and whatnot
well… within seconds of setting land, it was purchased by Freak Harbour ,a Bot Avie owned by Muratus Losangeles. The Land was immediately named Freak Bot Land and set for sale at a whopping 40,960L
Then to drop the cherry on top…I was issued the statement, “You are no longer allowed here and have been ejected”.
Micha Rydell a great friend and our Club Manager who was at the scene, scanned the area and picked up a few names for questioning thinking this was some sort of land stalker Incident with a crew or something.. He gave me the names and one by one I checked out there profiles and slipped one an IM and the response I got back was like one I never seen before.
“Hi, I'm a bot and don't have the ability to understand you. Forward questions and comments to “ such and such” (name has been removed cause this person’s bot wasn’t the culprit)
This was the first I’ve heard of such a land bot that is automatically set to scan for land sales and make the purchase without an avie behind the monitor to contact or even thank if this were a peaceful and uneventful transaction….
Which brings me to the first part of this dilemma which I’ve broken into two part.
The Ethical evaluation and conclusion was brought upon by what happened after this mistake transaction was made, Clearly it wasn’t a scam because these bots are (barely) legal and I DID set my land for sale (shame on me) and it got snatched….. but what ever happened to honest ethical people..have they forgot that behind every avie is a person. (or omg an actual SL Journalist who can expose such a person for being unethical)
After realizing ut oh I just lost my land for a buck , I figured what I should do is IM this Bot.
After several minutes passed of waiting on a response ,I figured this person was either
Ignoring me… AFK or ... Ignoring me.. so I went on to IM another avie who had commented on this “freak” avie to my club manager. He stated, that if I send a message saying it was a mistake he will give it back, the guy is honorable…
Luckily, but to no resolution , I was given this Freak Bots other Avie name, Muratus Losangeles.
Sooo I decided to IM him with this message….
[11:32] Lanai Jarrico: Hello Muratus I am writing to you because this is the first I have heard about bots used to purchase land within seconds of setting it, this was a mistake as I was simply trying to re buy my land for my group with no intentions on selling the property. Because this was a mistake I am asking in good faith that the 40, 960K that the land was set on for purchase be returned…
No reply was made even though he was online, even an attempt to send him same request in note card was declined… so I Imed the previous person who gave me the advice and he decided to contact Muratus himself.
Not in a harassing way, “o” kindly Imed him on my behalf to ask if he had received an IM from me in regards to the incident in which he replied with…
”yes and I muted her” . When asked if he doesn't give back mistakes anymore he was comfortable enough in his jerkness to add to his explanation with…"nope, not for some time. Not since I got banned for trying to stop Hana from getting mistakes and keeping them. So if LL is going to protect her, I figured screw it. Why should I care ,
I know it sucks. but they won't make that mistake again."
Pretty Honorable right?
Apparently Not Him…even if he once was or whatever , But it’s clear he knew morally it should have been returned But what really makes this guy SL’s #1 Jerk of the week is that in the past he ran crying to lindens about someone else doing it and ended up hopping on Jerk Bus with Hana and becoming just another grape in the bunch of (BLEEPS) who roam freely around Second Life ruining it for other more Honest people that come here. Maybe to his little circle of friends he is a good guy but to me…NOT.
Looking at this situation from the outside I will admit it was my fault for setting the land for sale and having it ripped from me by a heartless bot for a Buck!….
but when it really comes down to it…What Happened to doing the right thing and chipping in to keep the lively hood of Second Life Intact. it's Bad enough we have all sorts of ugly in our own real world to worry about.
He could have been a decent person and returned my land to me on the basis of human error but he chose not to. So he can go on doing what he does...and I'm gonna do what I do....
It makes me wonder how many people this happens to daily and in the future, how many will lose real cash due to these little loopsholes in Second Life’s Policies where they wash their hands of “domestic disputes unless its profitable to them. A Report was filed by me and my witnesses in hopes for a moral resolve and I’m sad to say I will be surprised if justice is served and a refund is issued but the way I see it, The Lindens, basically say, screw the little people and there petty cash we aren’t getting involved even if 40K+ (140+USD) was lost.…. Which brings me to my next question…Is this even Legal?
One why this all could have been prevented is by adding a simple Prompt for the land owner to make the final sale decision before any Linden Transactions are made to the specific buyer but until these little things get looked into and fixed there will be many more victims ahead.
In my last but not least opinion with all the scammers, griefers and morally blank Avies that parade around Second Life. coupled with all of the technical difficulties we have to endure day in and day out…Maybe SL is headed on a downward spiral to the Online Game wastelands because of things like this.
Eventually by seeing reports , or being a victim themselves, it will turn off the majority of Investors and companies that help create the Economy in Second Life .
Judging by the many stories I hear and the things I’ve witnessed or been a victim of myself, maybe we are all at the end of our rope in Second Life if changes aren't made.
In the long run I feel It will all fall upon the Lindens as better worlds are created with Rules and Regulations in the best interest of every avatar. They will start by seeing the flaws in Second Life and making the changes necessary and when they do The Enquirer will relocate too …
Ahhhhhh that venting Rant felt sooooo goooooood....

Report: Spam Junkie Attacks me causing sever capping of all offline creating a crisis in returning messages to SLE Fans. :(
Reported to Linden Authorities on April 23,24,25, 2008...Investigation still pending…I think.
Report Statement:
Oooohh the horror!!!! Just when I thought I seen the worst of Griefers and their many ways they seek attention... another disgruntle avie comes along. This time a rebel against Linden Labs (why am I not surprised?) who decided to send some form of regional spam containing his complaint of the many technical difficulties within Second Life…seeing his point to have his bloomers in a bunch, I just closed out the annoying back to back notices (which had the Lindens Logo) and decided to IM him in a “keep the peace” kinda way and got down to the Brady bunch level of compromise and asked him to please stop spamming…well…just like any calm collective approach sometimes it doesn’t work….
The following day when I logged in I noticed my messages were capped! Despite what you heard or think I didn’t reach the capped Imz popularity status yet….until this spam junkie came along…
I decided to Im this fool again and make it easier for the both of us and just mute him plain and simple..right?
To my surprise, the Lindens actually acted upon this menace to sl society with the swiftness f a superhero defending his city… they removed his avatar from existence all together.
Great!, that’s exactly what should happen…all the time…… but what happens when the spam junkie’s junk continues to load up you Imz and cause the capped messages to continue…Oh shit..what do I do now….
After crying to my closest advisor and friends about it, following the coordinates to where these spamming griefer objects were located, contacted the land owners and doing the usually gumshoe detective work….I decided to file my report to the trusty and always there for us, Linden Labs… aside from receiving the automating “we are looking into things” email.
