St. Patrick's Day Parties In Second Life seem very Much the same as the real deal accept the alcohol continues to flow 24/7 and the buzzes are a figment of the imagination. The atmosphere is nothing short of a celebration in observation of Saint Patrick who was said to have driven all the snakes out of Ireland.
St. Patrick's Day isn't Just a holiday about wearing green and doing a jolly jig around a pub with a big mug of frothy beer or setting out on a quest to pick clovers and following a rainbow to that imaginary pot of gold that never seems to be found.
In real life most, I would hope, understand leprechauns and all that stuff isnt real just like Santa and the Easter Bunny (hope I did't shock anyone with that)
Believe me I know how sensitive people can be about holiday icons, in fact I had my own incident at my kid's bus stop a couple years back when on her own accord decided to enlighten the other children by saying the taboo "Santa isnt real"
This totally put a twist right in the bloomers of a soccar mom standing nearby who could not take a moment to talk to me but rather call the school which had absolutely nothing to do with it. In turn the school called me to ask me to talk to my child about it. And do what? Tell my kid to lie... come on they were 4th Graders! Anyways with that out of the way...Sorry to break it to ya but..The tooth Fairy doesn't really live in a castle made out of teeth and the boogieman was really a sibling who used to jump out at you for kicks at bedtime..
In Second Life, All the sick cruel lies our parents told us, exists. You can even find an Easter bunny dressed like Cupid or a familiar cartoon character of our youth, sporting a superhero costume and it's all good.
Anything seems to go. the Only thing that seems out of place is normalcy and those who don't participate in celebrations of all kinds like St. Patrick's Day, you dont even have to be from Ireland or even Irish for that matter...As for me havin some irish in my roots, I set out with camera in tow to party on and took some great Snapshots in observation of the holiday.

After borrowing J.Lo's infamous green Grammy Dress and twisting off the cap to my big ol bottle of Jack D, I decided to go event hoppin and see what was happenin across the grid. After scanning the events list, my first TP landed me at Bay Vista where Mike00 Carnell was performing.
Somehow in between swoonin' and swiggin. A Strip pole mysteriously appeared on Stage and I must have gotten a little shove from either Charm or Gretchen but .....
Lady of the Bay, Charm March who was bursting with a bouquet of clovers may have been the one who was encouraging the St. Patty's Day shenanigans but I know that wild child Gretchen Capalini had a big part in it when she took my keys and warned others that I like to get punch drunk as she helped me make my way to the stage...
Jack Daniels, Rockstars and Strip Poles...What's a party without the 3?
Yea that's gonna hurt tomorrow....
After getting an earful of some Digby and approaching the end of my bottle of Jack, I wandered to The Merry Pranksters, Tree House Stage where another performance was going on.
And soon realized, I may be at another Green Celebration because the foliage on display was not a clover...
Now I wonder what leprachuans be smokin'
I managed to find my way to a Digby Smalls performance at kaiya Islands after Mike00's gig.. Wow..his voice is as smooth as a Mcdonald's Milkshake but goes down way better then the Shamrock Shake.
I wasn't sure if it was the alcohol but I was feeling kinda hot at that show.
It made me wanna shed beer tears and make a spectacle of myself in the shameless groupie section but I was too busy being shoved and IM'd by an avie who asked me to not swig on my drink too loud so I turned off the sound...
When the Pink Elephants started to appear, everything else after that was pretty much a Blur but I managed to end my St Patty' day with a bang. As My Forever designated BFF Prince Sonoda joined me at a Jax Streeter concert and made sure I got home safe.
