Kevin M Thomas Performing Dream On With Nixon Nation

Bumpin into KevinMThomas Carpool at Tammy Toll's Musicland Isle right before his concert was a pleasant surprise. It's rare we get a chance to talk with both our schedules jammed packed But FINALLY! I managed to get em in the hot seat for a little one on one.

Hey Kevin Welcome! It's great to have you....here..in the hotseat

I've been swoonin too your sets for a long time now and it's no secret I have a shameless little groupie crush on you. I love coming to your concerts, particularly like to hear your originals.

I'm sure I'm not the only inquiring mind that wants to know who are your influences and what inspires the music you write?

KevinMThomas Carpool: First of all thank you so much Lanai for your support! You have been such an incredible strength to me and the Second Life Music Scene and we could never thank you enough!

What inspires me, life in general. People, friends and all that goes on in and around me. I try to accurately reflect my feelings and the feelings of those who I come to experience in a variety of ways in some deep and eclectic ways and some more light.

Lanai Jarrico: Thank you! I enjoy Music its a big part of I think everyone's lives both in rl and second Life so no problem at all my support is there. So What brought you to SL and what's it like to be an accomplished SL Rockstar with fans around the world that you can interact with?

KevinMThomas Carpool: When I was with my RL band, Nixon Nation, one of my fans, who is part of Second Life, named Mama Norfolk, in world, told me about the metaverse and said that I should definitely check it out as it would open a new world for those to share my music with. It is simply and amazing feeling to interact with my friends all around the world. Its so much better than RL because we, like you and I have been, become friends and actually communicate without borders or time restrictions or bounds. Its amazing to get feedback and support in SL that I have never dreamed of!

Lanai Jarrico: That is so true its like an open world of communication with lots of amazing people like you here. I know you have performed in RL with a band Nixon Nation, Any others? And are there any other projects in RL or SL you are working on?

KevinMThomas Carpool: Oh yes there are so many bands I have worked with in both SL and RL however the problem is that with the solo career, my demand has been so much that it was getting hard to juggle all of the various projects and trying to balance life. My main focus if my SL career and continuing to reach out and touch new friends all over the world and keep partying with my friends who support me so dearly that I could never thank enough!

Lanai Jarrico: aww well I hope you never have to leave SL it would be a lost to the SL music world for sure

KevinMThomas Carpool: Oh never! If anything I am focusing more on my SL career and backing away from RL performing. This is where the future is. There is no potential in RL. Here we can reach every nation, every shore, every possible friend who can actively participate in the music that I could never do in RL. It's vehicles like SLEnquirer.com that make it happen as you have been a solid and integral part of the community to help get the word out.

Lanai Jarrico: Thank you Kevin, yes I totally agree with how you see it. And we are just beginning. remind me to tell you about our live news broadcasting hehe

 KevinMThomas Carpool: Fantastic!

Lanai Jarrico: so back to being a rockstar, Are you used to being in front of an audience in rl or Do you still get nervous before a Show?

KevinMThomas Carpool: No haven't been nervous since about age 13 in my first band. Once you develop the confidence in what you do and love what you do and surround yourself with friends who are standing with you day and night, its easy. Its the support of friends that makes this all worthwhile.

Lanai Jarrico: How do you prepare for your concerts?

KevinMThomas Carpool: I like to get to venues early and spend some time with friends talking about their lives and the music that they like best. I like to prepare by being around close friends and kicking back and getting caught up.

Lanai Jarrico: oo I'm gonna have to come earlier to concerts then lol I'm so antisocial and on the move a lot sorry about that. So, What are the similarities and differences about performing online and real life?

KevinMThomas Carpool: There are a lot. The main ones are continuing to reach out and connect to people with your music. In RL, there are boundaries that sometimes makes people feel like they are disconnected from the action. In SL, its a more intimate setting to where everyone feels like a part of the show and in fact they are and actively participate. SL concerts are a living being where everyone participates vs RL where is a performer and an audience.

Lanai Jarrico: Mhmm for sure, I love when you perform my fav song it really does make everyone involved in requests and part of the show . That's what makes it so unique.

Now a little about You and SL if you don't mind.

With all the things that can be done in SL, besides music, what do you like to do here?

KevinMThomas Carpool: When im not performing, I try to go out and catch other musicians and support them when I can. In addition, I like to check out all the new areas featured in the Showcase on the Second Life site or check out new lands that friends talk about. Its a constantly evolving world and makes it so exciting to explore!

So basically if your not playin music you are checkin out the scene .

How much of your RL filters into SL and What would you like to accomplish here?

KevinMThomas Carpool: RL an SL really do work hand-in-hand. My main focus is to work with MUSIC NOT POLITICS and to develop RL strategies to make a living performing in SL. MNP has consistently delivered and kept me evolving to a degree I never dreamed possible and only gets better each day.

Lanai Jarrico: What is your biggest disappointment in Second Life?

KevinMThomas Carpool: Honestly I can say none. Everything has been a major success. I make sure I keep focused on the music and stay very close with management and friends that support me to keep evolving and growing.

Lanai Jarrico: Your cool with never anything negative to say, What would you like the world to know about KT and Where can our readers sample your music, buy your cd, Book you and all that?

KevinMThomas Carpool: I am 100% evolving music. Music completely surrounds my world and my passion and the air I breathe is music. There is no better platform than SL to which to share it.

I am professionally managed by MUSIC NOT POLITICS. You can contact Throughthesewalls Moody for booking.
