Hotla: I came in Second life from another online game, back then there was a trial period, one week if I remember right, I ran around here with them boxes on my head sometimes not knowing what to do at all, but I loved to explore, I was so amazed with the graphics and then I found out that everything was actually created by players, my first avatar was Hotla Hoodoo and I have never ran off to hide and made another avatar and deleted her. I do regret the last name though and wished I could change that sometimes. But I was in a hurry to look at this place and choice something with an H as last name because I already knew what my first name was going to be..Hotla..that was the name I had in the other game and that is actually my real life name. I realized you needed to have money here to buy things and I asked around how to earn money here, some told me escorting, some told me stripping, I never did escorting not my nature, I did stripping for couple hours that was enough for me, that wasn’t me either, I felt very uncomfortable with it even as an avatar. I just hung around with friends after that, the ones I met and with my best friend Zazas Oz which came with me from the other game to here. then I started to mess around with prims..building then made some dresses, with prim skirts, and it was just in game texturing and no alpha in the whole outfit. but then I started to mess with the alphas in Photoshop and started to upload them just for me to wear.

Wurlitzer: What is Alluring Secrets and how did you get involved?

Hotla: Alluring Secrets is a store founded by me and a ex partner. I was already making things for myself and taught him how to also we went off and set up this store together wanting to name it Alluring Secrets, my designs were going to be Called Hot LALA and his well...not going to say :) but that was our land combined we owned together and to separate each others creations we named our creations differently, and that’s why I am kind of stuck with two names and afraid to change that.

Wurlitzer: Where is Alluring Secrets located?

Hotla: It is in the sim Wards, W A R D S I own most of the sim now but you can look in my profile under my picks or classifieds for teleport, or I can send a landmark to anyone that messages me for it.

Wurlitzer: How long did it take to create Alluring Secrets?

Hotla: Wow not sure, I was really new in second life when I started it, to me its not even totally created yet, feel its just being created still as I go. But it took seconds to type in the name in the land properties :)

Wurlitzer: Who are the staff involved with Alluring Secrets, & what are their roles?

Hotla: I don’t really have any staff that run Alluring Secrets, I am struggling on my own to do it all , only staff I have I guess are my mannequins standing modeling outfits, then the people that done a fashion show for me on my land about a couple months ago but they have no part in running Alluring Secrets other vice

Wurlitzer: What made you decide to market Alluring Secrets?

Hotla: It was more the Hot LALA thingy that I started with ..but anyway. I was being bugged and bugged by friends that saw my creations that I had just messed with and gave to them, they kept telling me I should go and sell that. And that etc...especially my best friend Zazas was being a pain in my behind and her partner at the time. I kept telling them oh no. no way this wont sell and they just wouldn’t leave me alone about it so really I caved in more to prove to them it is crap and we rented a booth and with in less than an hour my first outfit sold, and it sold like crazy. To my surprise.

Wurlitzer: What was your first customer experience in SL like?

Hotla: Apart from the first sales that shocked me I posted on the second life forums that I was a new designer and showed a picture of the outfits I was selling I had numerous messages telling me wow ahhh ..ohhhh and where can I get it? it was a nice experience for sure.

Wurlitzer: What were your desires for joining Second Life?

Hotla: The graphics over all second life look, and I was thrilled to know we can change our looks ..in the other game we were stuck with what the choice when we first started, there was no going back, I needed something new too was bored of the other place and this just drew me in to stay, I actually never went back to the other only to give away my money there and my land and belongings which was a fortune, I could had sold it for some bucks..lol

Wurlitzer: What are some of the inspirations that inspired the various items you feature at Alluring Secrets?

Hotla: Mostly real life outfits. from the internet or just in the stores real life, while grocery shopping or even the TV , its kind of a curse since I started designing I cant watch a movie or be in store with out looking at details of the clothes people are wearing. I think I’ve became a starer..lol :)

Wurlitzer: What are the price range for the items that Alluring Secrets carries?

Hotla: My outfits are mostly around 300-350 you can find some higher and lower, I do sell skins too and they are 600 and my newest line is 1300

Wurlitzer: What’s some of the issues that you've faced with Alluring Secrets?

Hotla: None really that would be alluring secrets related just second life bugs which almost everyone knows.

Wurlitzer: What are your favorite ways of promoting Alluring Secrets?

Hotla: I don’t have a favorite one ..yet...wished I have found one that gets it out there more but I haven’t found it yet.

Wurlitzer: How did Alluring Secrets get involved with Duettmann & Frankel Modeling?

Hotla: LOL hmmm had nothing to do with the designing world really, in my land I’ve been trying to buy up the sim and I had tried and tried to contact this one parcel owner for ages about if he was interested in selling his land to me, after few weeks he finally contacted me and said he was going to sell it but id have to bit on it so I teleported to there and there Helke was with her friend Nash, I won, I bit way too high really I know, but me and Nash started to talk and she wanted to see my store, then Helke came over to look, and she offered to do a show for me in short story, and I caved in :).

Wurlitzer: When was you first event with Duettmann & Frankel Modeling?

Hotla: October 4th this year

Wurlitzer: What were some features of the recent fashion event for D&F?

Hotla: I showed my newest designs and my skins

Wurlitzer: What are your future plans regarding Alluring Secrets and D&F?

Hotla: I don’t have plans really but I wont mind to do another show with them Helke and her staff and her wonderful models did awesome job so I will probably be doing more shows with them in the future.

Wurlitzer: What are some groups that members can join regarding Alluring Secrets ?

Hotla: I have my own group in game that is called Alluring Secrets, Hot LALA designs free for everyone to join which I made a mistake to stop using while back but trying to build it up, my mistake was I went to subscribe-o-matic and thought that would be enough but I realize now its not even though I have a lot of members in that but it wont show in peoples profiles though and it is better to have the group showing in peoples profiles also, I still like the subscribe-o-matic also and wont drop that though but think group is more important than that one is really so it will take me time to build that one up again.

Wurlitzer: How many members would are active in the Alluring Secrets groups?

Hotla: Now just 85 members not big but that’s where I did a mistake on...the subscribe-o-matic almost 500 people.

Wurlitzer: How many times do you hold special group events for Alluring Secrets?

Hotla: I don’t and haven’t, It is already a struggle for me to be alone here with this and real life is really busy too plus I have trust issues with people on sl anymore and the ones I trust hardly ever log on anymore, Unfortunately. basically I’d need help and I don’t have it.

Wurlitzer: Does Alluring Secrets have any sponsors?

Hotla: No none.

Wurlitzer: What are some of your goals for Alluring Secrets for the future?

Hotla: Better advertising for one, get to the top known designers another, and most important just make better and better things for people,

Wurlitzer: If you weren’t involved with Alluring Secrets, what you have been doing?

Hotla: I probably wouldn’t be in second life.

Wurlitzer: What do you like to do in your spare time in SL away Alluring Secrets?

Hotla: Talk to friends number one, next is explore amazing scenery in here which is harder for me to find now days, think I’ve seen it all by now and its hard to amaze me anymore but I just found one area that blew me totally away..lol so there are some left here and others that continue to really surprise us old timers :)

Wurlitzer: How do you see the future of Second life to be?

Hotla: Ouch!...do I have to answer that?...lol...wait any Lindens watching? :)

actually I don’t know really, but the way things been for last year or more with the thefts of designs etc and how LL seems to be immune to that and that has damaged second life economy, but I do think second life will be here still for long time, I am constantly searching for something better though as far as support on the stealing issues and I am sure there will be just like second life some day that will be better about that and then many will leave I think. there is one out there already I haven’t been there yet. So I don’t know how it is...yet...

Wurlitzer: Where do you see Alluring Secrets 6months from now?

Hotla: Hopefully little bit bigger as far as fame,,,maybe on an island in here somewhere but that’s all I will be aiming for and work on.

Wurlitzer: What would you like to be known for in Second Life?

Hotla: A great designer and good customer service and most of all just nice person in general, I’ve heard about other designers that are big but they are not so nice, and I don’t want to be known for that either.

Wurlitzer: Do you have a favorite quote you would like to share w/ the audience?

Hotla: Yes this goes for both real life and second life.
