SPECIAL FEATURE-Interview With Wurlitzer Seisenbacher

Wurlitzer: What was your inspiration for creating Fanastacia Weddings?

Anastacia: Love…to put it simply love has no boundaries, be it RL or SL.. Many are here and find someone that touches them so deeply, so completely that they want to commit themselves and join together in every way possible. Many even cross from SL to RL in their relationships. What an awesome inspiration, to be able to create someone’s dreams and help them celebrate something special they have found :)

Wurlitzer: Where is Fanastacia Weddings located?

Anastacia: The main sim of Fanastacia Weddings is located on the beautiful island of Apassionatta.

Wurlitzer: Who designed the layout for Fanastacia Weddings?

Anastacia: That would be me. With the help of my awesome all around super man, Luciferi Demonia. I envision, and he helps to make it all come to life. We make a great team :)

Wurlitzer: How long has Fanastacia Weddings existed?

Anastacia: We went into business officially in May of 2008.

Wurlitzer: How many locations has Fanastacia Weddings gone through?

Anastacia: Just one, we are firmly planted and the roots growing stronger every day.

Wurlitzer: Do you have any plans to expand ?

Anastacia: As a matter of fact, Wurl. Yes we do. By February we will be buying a 4th sim.

Wurlitzer: How many sims is Fanastacia Weddings on, and why so many?

Anastacia: Currently it is on 3 class 5 sims. 1 is a Full and 2 are open sims. Our newest full sim is planned for February. We have so many, frankly, because I cant stop creating new and unique wedding themes. *laughs* IM addicted I think :)

Wurlitzer: What are the features of Fanastacia Weddings?

Anastacia: We are a full service virtual wedding company. We feature or have resources to everything you need or can dream of to make your dream day perfect. We also host parties of all types, poetry readings, live music events,...even funerals in our gorgeous cathedral.

Wurlitzer: What wedding packages are available?

Anastacia: We have 5 wedding packages to fit every budget, as well as an *Ala Carte* menu to hand pick and create your perfect day.

Wurlitzer: What’s the process like for getting married at Fanastacia Weddings?

It is very simple. Once you land on the Sim one of My assistants or Staff will greet you and offer a specialized, informative guided tour. We work with you to really dig in, get inside your head and work with you to create your visions. Communication and personal service are two traits I think are a must have for what we do here at Fanastacia Weddings.

Wurlitzer: What are the costs to host your wedding reception?

Anastacia: Well that would be under ala carte. It would really depend on if you want one of our locations already set, or a custom set up .

Wurlitzer: You also feature 3 different ceremonies, how does each differ?

Anastacia: We actually have several ceremonies now. Trystan Zeid, MY SL and RL husband is our Minister. He is an amazing writer and thusly works with each couple to uniquely create their ceremony. We do everything from Collarings, to Handfastings. Vow Renewals. Traditional, Same Sex Ceremonies. Catholic, Non Religious, Religious. Just like our wedding venue themes., we can create any custom ceremony as well.

Wurlitzer: How long is the wedding process?

Anastacia: Well an average wedding ceremony itself, will span approximately 30-45 minutes, the process of planning a wedding from start to finish is usually 2-4 weeks time. Although we do rush when time permits and have done several large wedding sin only a few days time, we do not suggest that, as there is about 15hours of RL work that go into our average weddings. Even more, if a custom or larger package.

Wurlitzer: What is the time limit for a wedding at Fanastacia Weddings?

Anastacia: That is all covered in our Package list note card

Different packages have different time limits, however if we only have one wedding scheduled that day, I don’t mind allowing extra time free of charge to enjoy the moments ;)

Wurlitzer: How much is the overtime fee?

Anastacia: That again is to be determined, every situation is unique. But on average 1k an hour.

Wurlitzer: How much staff is involved w/ Fanastacia Weddings, and do they have any prior experience/knowledge of wedding processes in RL?

Anastacia: Right now we have 11 employees. Each with their own unique talents and personalities. We all have our own Niches. We also have an outside network to several that work with us for certain needs, but most of what we do in done here in our internal network of staff and family.

Wurlitzer: What are some top obligations to consider when looking for a reception venue at Fanastacia Weddings?

Anastacia: Ok I’m going to throw caution to wind and assume you mean for the entire wedding process leading up to and including reception. Let me start by saying for reception only, there are not many obligations except making sure you show up on the day you want the party, dressed properly and on time :) As for the complete process, Many obligations need to be looked at. Date/time/venue theme, also your budget is very important to consider. Another strong obligation that many don’t consider is the bridal party itself. Made up of the Maid of Honor, Best Man, Brides maids, Groomsmen, Flower girls Parents of bride and the bride and groom themselves. When choosing these loved ones it is important to remember this is a virtual world. Things like internet connections, Pc stability, Time zones,. RL obligations, its important the people you choose to be with you on your special day can do so completely and without issue. Intermittent crashes and the like during a ceremony, can’t be helped but someone who knows that SL runs slow on their pc will have a very hard time when you have 40 guests with high formal avatar rendering costs. Severe crashing can ruin a beautiful ceremony And add stress to an already nervous Bride and Groom

Wurlitzer: Can Fanastacia Weddings also help prepare the toast for the bride & groom?

Anastacia: Oh yes, we help with every detail of the wedding from start to finish and even after, during the honeymoon :) Our Brides and grooms are family to us and most remain friends long after their perfect day is over :)

Wurlitzer: What are some inspiring ideas that have helped out with making vows creative?

Anastacia: I think the inspiration comes from the individuality of the couples themselves,. Allow me to expound on this point a moment. Each couple has a unique love story, things that are special and precious to their them and their love for each other. Trystan really gets in and finds these points,. Working with them to create something that truly reflects their love.

Wurlitzer: Are there any decorating restrictions?

Anastacia: I do all the decorating myself, we do not allow outside planners because I like to keep the quality of our work stellar. I do always work with the bride and groom to pick flowers, and decorations they will love.. I also help with assistance in picking a color scheme that blends and works well together. There are no bad choices , just sometimes there can be better choices. *giggles* for example a bride comes in and has an idea of bright neon green and lets say...pumpkin...I would of course detour that notion with a suggestion for...pale mint green and light peach...then adding an accent color of. Lets say a warm champagne gold. Here we have taken 2 very strong colors. And softened them into a color palette that is both romantic and eye pleasing to create the mood for a perfect wedding setting

Wurlitzer: Is there an in-house caterer if so, are they the exclusive caterers, or can you provide your own prim foods?

Anastacia: I do all this type of work My inventory is stocked with loads of prim foods, drinks,. Bar scripts, and for special requests I know the best places to go to find anything I may need.

Wurlitzer: Does Fanastacia Weddings provide a live musician or DJ?

Anastacia: We have a radio station that we use to hire professional DJ’s., I also am a professional DJ myself so when time permits I love to DJ myself.

Wurlitzer: What's the best wedding songs or music people have requested on their wedding day?

Anastacia: Wow that’s so many to say. Each genre of music has so many beautiful songs to use, sometimes the couple provides me with a song list of their choices, sometime they pick a few and leave the rest to me to fill in. it really depends on the genre of music they are wanting to use to create the ambiance of their day.

Wurlitzer: What happens if the DJ/musician can't do the event and has to cancel?

Anastacia: Then we have backup, or I take over..:) We do not allow anything to ruin a dream wedding here at Fanastacia weddings.

Wurlitzer: What are some good techniques for keeping your virtual wedding plans realistic?

Anastacia: Well, this is kind of a difficult question...because we thrive here to make fantasy with elements of realism intertwined. So we capture the couples vision and then thrive to make it as real as possible.. some couples want the fantasy aspect more than the real. The realism comes with the ceremony itself, not necessarily with the theme or concept.

Wurlitzer: Everybody has an opinion on how their wedding “should be,” how does Fanastacia Weddings strive to keep everybody happy?

Anastacia: By doing just that, respecting that every couple is unique and has their own unique ideas, We are flexible in every aspect and will use every avenue and talent we have to make the couples day the most special , so they will look back with a smile on their wedding day memories.

Wurlitzer: What are some of your favorite moments you've witnessed while conducting a marriage at Fanastacia Weddings?

Anastacia: Oh, I love this question. We have had 2 couples thus far that have taken their wedding from SL to RL. During the vows of one wedding, The groom spoke of his love for his bride,. they live together RL and their pcs were next to each other, as he was saying his vows here...he pulled out a RL ring. Got on his knee and proposed to her both in the ceremony here. On voice....and in RL.. there wasn’t a dry eye in the chapel :)

Wurlitzer: As diverse as Second Life is, what’s your policy regarding marrying noobie/furries or same gender avatars?

Anastacia: We embrace an welcome everyone here... my motto is: “Love is Love” It spans over every race, gender and creature. and should not be denied because of ones avatar.

Wurlitzer: What are some of the rules that patrons must follow in order to respect Fanastacia Weddings?

Anastacia: Well be yourself. and Honest in what your looking for.. it will help us help you more completely. When you land, tell the tour guide what your looking for. If you’d like to plan ahead for a tour. You can always contact one of the staff listed in our classified ad. Please respect that we do not let people to wander the sims unattended, a staff member needs to be with you at all times, unless you’ve already booked a wedding :) Customer service and mind to every little detail is what I thrive on and how I keep Fanastacia being the best it can be.

Wurlitzer: What made you decide to market Fanastacia Weddings?

Anastacia: I love to create. And I love romance .. When I was looking for my first wedding venue to get married in long ago.... I saw much of the same and nothing *unique* it was then I decided how much I would love to make other peoples dreams come true. Just like my own. I have this boundless creativeness and a deep inspiration for romance. I’ve always loved to decorate. my attention to small details and going the extra mile just seemed to make it all make sense, and fit into place. I truly found my niche and I’m enjoying every moment o fit. Every wedding I still cry at...yes Shhh I’m a sap..dont tell anyone :)

Wurlitzer: What are some upcoming wedding themes you are having for the month of Nov?

Anastacia: Well we have 10 ongoing themes at the moment and are working to expand more to the Sims. I don’t want to tell upcoming themes I’m working on, as I like to surprise people. but we have a gorgeous natural fall setting theme ..and a beautiful lush garden that can be customized to fit any season. Also we have what some have said the most beautiful winter wedding theme in sl at the moment. I just updated our Cinderella’s castle. it’s amazing and added a special second form of *heaven* that is truly gorgeous. I also have 5 new themes ready to place when the new sim is purchased.

Wurlitzer: Does Fanastacia Weddings have any sponsors?

Anastacia: No. not yet ..we are all funded solely out of my pocket.

Wurlitzer: What are some of Fanastacia Weddings main goals? Our main goal is to provide each and every couple in SL their perfect dream wedding that runs flawlessly and professionally each step of the way.

Wurlitzer: Is there a contract that’s involved when planning a marriage at Fanastacia Weddings?

Anastacia: No we do not have contracts, we only have a few rules. I do send each couple that books a wedding consult questionnaire with all the information they need to help us communicate details. I keep strict organized files for each couple also.

Wurlitzer: How do you go about promoting Fanastacia Weddings?

Anastacia: Several ways. I do interviews like this, classified ads, radio station ads, but our best form of advertising is referrals. Satisfied customers that tell their friends how wonderful their experience with us was.

Wurlitzer: What makes you feel that Fanastacia Weddings is different than most any other wedding service in Second Life?

Anastacia: Because we truly care about each person that comes through her for a wedding, event or party. We know what works because of experience and we know what to do and not to do. SL is very tricky to have a wedding in because of so many outside elements that cant be helped.. They call me Jlo..(like the character she played in the movie the “Wedding Planner” at any given time I’m running around doing 5 things at once ;)

Wurlitzer: What’s the cancellation/refund policy?

Anastacia: We do not give refunds as we begin work on wedding the moment we take a deposit. We are happy to reschedule a wedding due to issues unforeseen , but breaks ups and the like we cannot refund for. Also when you book your day and time that is blacking out another potential customer that may of wanted that day. So your deposit is holding that day for you and you alone and cant be given back. We take 1/2 the package cost up front and the remaining half the day of rehearsal, that is standard policy for most wedding companies in SL.

Wurlitzer: Who provides the photography and how long is the turnaround time?

Anastacia: We have an on staff photographer. He’s amazing.. He is usually able to get your photos to you in 2-3 days. Sometimes sooner. But never more than a week after.

Wurlitzer: What’s the photographer's primary photography style?

Anastacia: That depends on package and customers wants. Several issues come into play. Will they be getting a photo album, framed prints? All photos here are cropped and resized and given full perm do they do any extra editing that may want, we choose some pictures from those we take and do a full Photoshop work on them. Again all that is discussed when they book a wedding and meet with the photographer for a consult ;)

Wurlitzer: Does the photographer shoot in color or black and white or both?

Anastacia: He will shoot whichever way you wish at any time of the day setting.

Wurlitzer: What are some of the drawbacks that your experiencing with weddings in SL?

Anastacia: There is a lot of competition, and many other companies do not work together to network and help one another they see it as competition. this creates so many unneeded problems and takes away from time and energy that could be used to create something beautiful. ;)

Wurlitzer: What are the top questions people like to ask regarding planning a wedding?

Anastacia: Can we change the colors?. Is a big one. And can we pick our own music.. is another one they see the themes, they are usually already in love with it :)

Wurlitzer: Is there a group to join for Fanastacia Weddings?

Anastacia: There sure is, its called Apassionatta,. It tells of all the live events we will be having, live singers, poetry readings all that is done on a public level.

Wurlitzer: What kind of exclusive membership perks would you get for joining the Fanastacia Weddings group?

Anastacia: A heads up on all events and sporadic discounts given for weddings here and events upcoming.

Wurlitzer: How many members would you say are active in the Fanastacia Weddings group?

Anastacia: You know I haven’t looked lately. Around 50 at the moment perhaps.?

Wurlitzer: How long have you been in Second Life?

Anastacia: I’ve been in SL on several avatars.. 2 years now.

Wurlitzer: With the current Open Spaces controversy, how has that affected your business?

Anastacia: In several ways actually Wurl...firstly, its tier being raised it cuts into profits being made, which at the time are none..*laughs*.. We make tie, not much over. So that is good :)..The biggest issue is, no knowing the homesteads prim count and avatar count they will be implementing as of yet. It ha really made my decision to upgrade to another full sim for that very purpose , we want our customers to have the best experience they can have here.

Wurlitzer: Are you the same person in RL as you are in SL?

Anastacia: Yes, yes I am...I’m a hopeless romantic..

Wurlitzer: Do you have any plans on what you would eventually like to do in SL?

Anastacia: Yes a secret I will let you in on. We will be expanding soon to do creative, and unique expos and showcases. I believe in helping other businesses in our community and the old systems of bartering and aiding each other when we can. I will love choosing the unique themes and hope to offer many wonderful, creative new ideas to that niche.

Wurlitzer: Right now, is your Second Life, what you want it to be?

Anastacia: Yes it is, I am always evolving, and for this moment.. I’m right on track :)

Wurlitzer: If you didn't have Fanastacia Weddings, what would you have done instead?

Anastacia: Wow hard question. This is where I always wanted to be but I am a professional vocalist in RL.. I probably would of venture into singing here on SL as a live entertainer ;)

Wurlitzer: Other than Fanastacia Weddings, are there any other places that you have in SL?

Anastacia: No. This is my world. and I thrive in it.

Wurlitzer: How do you see the future of Second life to be? Will it be geared towards more education?

Anastacia: I certainly hope so., knowledge is something we can never get enough of and finding creative ways to explore and learn is a truly fascinating thing.

Wurlitzer: What do you do in RL?

Anastacia: Hmm didn’t I uninstall RL recently? *laughs*

nono..seriously..

I’m a retired nurse. Currently I work for the county school board and I sing .

Wurlitzer: How do you keep transparency in making sure who you are in RL becomes the same in SL?

Anastacia: I hold strong to my morals and virtues. I talk on voice a lot (giggles) My morals are what have taken me in life and using them here is second nature. treat others as you want to be treated goes along way in any realm.

Wurlitzer: What do you like to do in your spare time in SL?

Anastacia: Spare time…what’s that? I go out dancing once in a great while I like the SL theatre and exploring art exhibits and I love shopping for choose I mean ..shoes..:)But mostly my work keeps me busy here. If free time is had. I work to create new ideas and venues. I’m always changing and evolving, it is what keeps us fresh and unique.
