Harmonia: I have been singing since I could talk. Music was a big thing in my families house and I would learn every word to the songs and sing to every record my parents played.

Wurlitzer: How did you make the transition of being involved as a singer in SL?

Harmonia: I joined SL just to see what it was all about, when I discovered people performed live here, I asked around until I found Drift Monde at the Lily Pad Lounge. She told me how to sing in SL and gave me a spot at her venue.

Wurlitzer: How long have you been working as an SL musician for?

Harmonia: I started singing in January 2008 so it has been about a year and a half now.

Wurlitzer: What are some songs that you have recently covered?

Harmonia: I have a list of nearly 200 songs, on any day it varies. My styles cover country, pop, oldies and standards, so there is something to suit everyone's taste.

Wurlitzer: Do you listen to other singers in SL? Any favorites?

Harmonia: Three of my favorite artists in SL are Casper Paperdoll, Maxx Sabretooth and Niles Compton. With my schedule, I don't have as much time as I'd like to get to shows.

Wurlitzer: Would you perform with other musicians in SL, if given the opportunity?

Harmonia: I would. It isn't something I have done yet but that sounds fun.

Wurlitzer: Did you ever have to audition for a gig in SL?

Harmonia: Not really, I started singing at Lily Pad Lounge, then I approached the owner of SL Paradise (now known as Paradise Resort) and sang there a couple times a week. After that owners started contacting me.

Wurlitzer: Who goes about choosing the songs... you or the fans?

Harmonia: I start the shows with an opening number and then invite people to make requests based on a song list available at the shows. It is about 50/50 most shows

Wurlitzer: Who are some of your musical influences, Harmonia?

Harmonia: Liza Minnelli, Patsy Cline, Linda Ronstadt, Barbara Streisand and Martina McBride

Wurlitzer: What are your thoughts on music performance in SL?

Harmonia: I think it is a wonderful way for musicians and singers to ply their craft and hone their skills. Many of us are in groups or perform in RL and it really helps to make us better artists.

Wurlitzer: Do you plan to produce any CDs or MP3s for your fans here?

Harmonia: I am thinking of doing that. I am working on back tracks in a software program and once I have enough songs, i will produce a CD. I will keep you posted.

Wurlitzer: How do you connect your audio stream into SL, Harmonia?

Harmonia: I use Edcast to configure my stream and the landowner puts my stream in the land. You can also use Winamp.

Wurlitzer: Do you use an agent or do you set things up on your own in SL?

Harmonia: I am independent, but SecondStreet Gasser helps to promote me and he will also be able to answer any questions about my singing in SL.

Wurlitzer: What do you do outside of SL, Harmonia?

Harmonia: There is something other than SL??? LOL . I work on my music and I am now trying to learn to play harmonica so I can help out in my RL band. I do vocals and percussion for them now.

Wurlitzer: Have you had any formal vocal/instrument training?

Harmonia: No I am a self taught singer. The influences I mentioned earlier are women whose techniques in vocalization I have studied on my own and try to use in my singing.

Wurlitzer: If you could choose any year of music to sing, what year & why?

Harmonia: I can better answer that by decade not specific year and I will say I enjoy songs from the 70's the most.

Wurlitzer: What are some popular audience requests?

Harmonia: I get many requests, but I would say right now You Gave Me A Mountain is a popular choice.

Wurlitzer: Who are some of your favorite songwriters of all time, Harmonia?

Harmonia: Carole King is outstanding and I'm not saying that cause she is one of your favorites Wurl.

Wurlitzer: Harmonia, how often do you perform in SL?

Harmonia: I perform 3-4 times a day at various locations.

Wurlitzer: Have you ever worked with a band outside of SL?

Harmonia: I am in a band now. We don't even have an official name yet. We are just getting started.

Wurlitzer: Have you had any SL reviews written about any of your performances?

Harmonia: Yes I have two reviews. One from Thump Magazine and the other from SL Daily News.

Wurlitzer: When is your next live performance, Harmonia?

Harmonia: When we are done with this interview LOL. Tomorrow...May 30th,

1pm SLT/PDT at the Lily Pad Lounge.

Wurlitzer: Has anything embarrassing ever happened on stage to you?

Harmonia: Yes my very first performance, I was auto logged off of SL for non-movement. I didn't know it so 45 mins of my show were avatar-less LOL.

Wurlitzer: Do you have a group for fans to join?

Harmonia: Yes they can IM myself or SecondStreet to be added to the group. I have over 600 now in my group.
