Wurlitzer: How did you both find Second Life?

Nita: Grim was the first to discover Second Life in July of 2007. At first I didn't want to join in but he thankfully dragged me in kicking and screaming. We spent the first month just playing around and setting up residence. After spending way too much money Grim decided to start create content to pay for our in world expenses.

Wurlitzer: What is Grimworx and how did you both get involved?

Grim: GRIMWORX is a horror shop that specializes in interactive experiences. It is my brainchild. Nita: Almost all products have been dreamed up and created by Grim. I have only a couple of products made specifically for GRIMWORX.

Wurlitzer: How many other people are involved with Grimworx and what are their roles?

Nita: It is just the 2 of us. All of the products we offer in our shops have been created by us.

Wurlitzer: What are the main features of Grimworx?

Grim: That would be the newest addition to the GRIMWORX line of products, the Traps. They are "unexpected" situations

Wurlitzer: Where is Grimworx located?

Nita: On our sim, Amity Island.

Wurlitzer: What are the prices featured at Grimworx?

Grim: They range as low from $149L to $799L. We like to keep our products in a price range that just about everyone can afford.

Wurlitzer: How many times do you hold special activities for Grimworx customers ?

Grim: We offer are 2 free movie theaters. They each show a new movie every week. It is our way of showing our appreciation to the residents of Second Life for their patronage and to offer a fun place that anyone can enjoy.

Wurlitzer: Which Grimworx decorations are new for 2009?

Grim: There are several new items in our new Traps line; The Impaler, Hell Hole, Acid Chamber, Magma Chamber, Broken Bridge and a couple of Mini-Traps (saw blades and spikes)

Wurlitzer: What was the process like creating an interactive decoration for Grimworx?

Nita: When Grim is in what we call "project mode" he works intensively on each product. He goes through a full range of emotions. I've seen him so frustrated he has to just walk away until he can calm himself down again. I've also heard him laughing thru the process when a new exciting idea comes to fruition.

Wurlitzer: What were the inspirations for you to design for Grimworx in SL?

Grim: We are both huge horror movie fans. That was the first inspiration for the first line of products, the Spookers. Then I moved on to finding ways to incite Real Life fears. What are people really afraid of. For Nita, the Critters Spiders gives her the creeps every time she sees them. LOL!

Wurlitzer: How do you go about your research in Grimworx design?

Grim: Finding out what people are afraid of and help bringing those fears to virtual life.

13.What was the first designs you created for Grimworx?

Grim: GRIMWORX did not start out as a horror shop. I actually started by creating a lava lamp. At the grand opening of GRIMWORK that was the only product we offered. But ppl did have the choice of three different sizes. :)

Wurlitzer: Has Grimworx ever been featured in any reviews or magazines?

Nita: GRIMWORX has been featured a number of times in magazines and blogs. The lastest one would be in Best of Second Life magazine. Every so often we do a google search for Grim Bracken and find new reviews and features popping up.

Wurlitzer: Whats your most favorite thing about working at Grimworx?

Grim: Just seeing how much fun people have using our creations.

Wurlitzer: Are there any limitations in designing an interactive decoration for Grimworx?

Grim: The main limitations come from the limitations of Second Life. It can be a frustrating exercise working around SL's limitations in scripting, etc.. We are also always very conscience of the amount of prims we use for each build. Each design is carefully fine tuned to use the least amount of prims possible.

Wurlitzer: How do you plan to keep the concept of Grimworx fresh?

Grim: By concentrating on continuing to bring RL fears into unexpected situations.

Wurlitzer: Do you plan to have Grimworx outside of SL?

Grim: There are no solid plans at the moment, but we are tossing around some ideas.

Wurlitzer: Nita is also Co-Owner of SERENADE, Tameless, can you tell us more?

Nita: About the same time Grim started creating his horror experiences, I started making poses for SERENADE. A few months after that Grim designed the Pose Stand Pro and then the Photo Studio Pro. His SL and RL backgrounds are absolutley gorgeous. We been running SERENADE for around 2 years now. And on the first of October we celebrated the 1 year anniversary of our hair shop, Tameless.

Wurlitzer: Are there any groups to join for Grimworx & SERENADE?

Nita: SERENADE and Tameless each have their own groups that we run thru Hippo-Groups. All one has to do to join is click on the "group join" sign in the shops. We also have a hippo-group for the theaters.

Wurlitzer: What are your goals for the future of Grimworx & SERENADE?

Grim:We just plan to keep creating the kind of quality products our customers have come to expect. For GRIMWORX Grim will be making new types of traps.

Nita: And for SERENADE and TAMELESS...what can I say? More great poses and hair. :)

Wurlitzer: If you weren’t involved with Grimworx & SERENADE, what you have been doing?

Grim: Honestly I couldn't even guess. We spend 99% of our time in SL creating content for our shops or just dealing with the issues of owning our own island.

Wurlitzer: What do you like to do in your spare time in SL away from Grimworx & SERENADE?

Nita: When we do take short breaks from creating content for the shops and running the island, we try to spend time with our small group of friends. :)

Wurlitzer: What would you like Grimworx & SERENADE to be known for in Second Life?

Grim: Quality affordable products that are fun and creative.

Wurlitzer: What life experience do you feel you learned the most from working at Grimworx & SERENADE?

Nita: What it's like to run our own businesses.

Wurlitzer: Are there any other projects or interests Grimworx & SERENADE would like getting involved in ?

Nita: GRIMWORX will actually be opening our Christmas shop on November the 1st with a full line of traditional Christmas decorations. There is a great new product that Grim has designed that I'm sure sim owners, shop owners, pretty much everyone in SL will absolutely love. And I'm hoping that by the first of 2010 we will be able to open our newest shop offering a line of women's skins.

Wurlitzer: Do you have any favorite advice you would like to share w/ the audience about choosing the right item at Grimworx & SERENADE?

Grim: Stop by the shops. All of our products are available to demo for free. We offer so many different products that I'm sure everyone will find something that they just have to have.

Wurlitzer: For more information on Grimworx & SERENADE, who can we contact?

Nita: Although we are both happy to answer any questions for our customers, I tend to be available more often than Grim.
